Problems with MP3s in Vice City.

Hi,
I seem to be having trouble with some MP3s in Vice City, they just play all "crackly" and "hissy".
Its not all MP3s though. Just ones off certain albums.
Below is a list of MP3s that i have in Vice City, and which ones work.

Work:
Evenscence-Fallen-Everything on the Album
Lost Prophets-The Fake Sound Of Progress-Lost Prophets-The Fake Sound Of Progress
Lost Prophets-The Fake Sound Of Progress-Shinobi Vs Dragon Ninja.
Linkin Park-Hybrid Theory-Papercut
Linkin Park-Hybrid Theory-Points of Authority
Linkin Park-ReAnimation-Enth E ND
Linkin Park-ReAnimation-PTS.OF.ATHRTY
Linkin Park-ReAnimation-RNW@Y
The Calling-Cameo Palmero-Adrienne
A-HiFi Serious-Nothing
A-HiFi Serious-Starbucks

Dont work:
Linkin Park-Meteora-Faint
Linkin Park-Meteora-Somewhere I Belong.

Ive noticed that other tracks off the Meteora Album dont work as well.
All the tracks are legal, from the Album/s that i own. Not off a P2P program and not copyed.

Thanks in advance.

Do they work fine in other programs (Winamp etc?).
When I play GTA, I just run Winamp in the background to listen to songs that way instead, as it doesn't take up much resources.

I can't think of any reason why it might hiss unless it was cided differently. My copy of VC should arrive tomorrow (I hope), just hope I don't have the same problems.
I'm probably going to use Winamp in the background though, my personal preference.

They work fine in RealOne player and WMP.

Using a MP3 player in the background will take up more resources than using the built in one. Cos its two separate programs, using two seperate areas of the system memory, and different amount of CPU time.
Using the same program, in this case Game+MP3, will mean that there`s less things for the CPU to do, as it just has the one program to worry about, and not two, and for the soundcard, one and not two audio sources to worry about. Just my opinion.

I play pretty much 100% of my games with Winamp in the background playing music with no drop in performance that I can notice. It won't help your problem with mp3's in GTA: VC, but that's just what I do and it seems to be fine for me.

Its a shame that the tracks of the Meteroa album wont play propely in VC.
I`ll have to put Alien Ant Farm-Anthology on instead....Particulary "Smooth Criminal"....lol.
