Problems with Mouse and Epox 7KXA-based System

Just wonderin if anyone has insight into this issue but I've been having some problems with a Epox 7KXA-based system and I'm wonderin if it has anything to do with the mobo or if it's a software related issue. The problem is that when I go on the internet using either netscape or IE the mouse pointer disappears yet it is still active and windows98SE has trouble shutting down (it hangs on the shutdown screen). I've reinstalled win98Se several times, prolly won't move to win2k cuz the HD is too small, and I've used PS/2 and USB mice and I have the same problem. Does anyone possibly have any ideas about what could be causing the problem?

i have an epox 7kxa. no mouse problem except when some crappy juno page would show up. what is your isp? intermittent problem? obtw i got rid of juno.
