Problems with Mandrake

Hi!
I just have installed Mandrak 7.2 on my system. So far everything works good, now I am able to triple boot between win2k server, win 98 se and linux...
Anyhow, I have a problem. Everytime when I try to open DrakConf and go to "Hardware Configuration" menu in KDE, linux just hangs, the screen just goes blank. The only way out is to press ctr+alt+del, which kills KDE and restarts the system. It only does it when I try to access this particular menu. I know it's kind of strange, but...
I believe that I have some hardware issue cause I use Abit's KT7RAID which, as I can read from the message groups all over the internet is very tough to configure...
I have also voodoo 4500 AGP which might be a problem as well (maybe?)
Help,
Regards,

I had the same problem with a Voodoo 5500 (no RAID here)

I figured it might have something to do with the voodoo card.
Maybe you should try updating the drivers for your 3dfx card. I think the ones at www.3dfx.com are more up to date than the ones that ship with XFree.

Might clear things up...

Which XFree86 server are you running? Try 3.3.6 if you're running 4.0. They've already released 4.0.3 if I remember correctly, so you could also try to upgrade that way.

I don't know if they've fixed that specific issue, but it's just an idea.

When your machine "hangs", can you Alt-Ctrl-F1/F2/etc to another terminal? If so, then it's definitely just the X server hanging...
