Problems with Lucent LT modem...gonna throw this thing out the window

OK I am extremely frustrated at this point heres why....

Yesterday my dad unplugged my water pump so when I turned my computer on my files got corrupted from the overheated proc. When I realized the pump was unplugged it was too late. I was pissed. So today I install Windows ME (I was on Windows 98 SE before) and it worked ok. Until i Tried installing my modem. Windows ME insists on using its driver for the LT modem. It won't allow me to install (or it doesnt seem liek its letting me install) the latest 6.00 driver.

It does connect to AT&T though but it connects and doesnt do anything. The littel lights at the bottom never blink. I've tried reinstalling a thousand times and no go. Anyone have any clue how to stop Windows fu$*in ME from doing this? Sorry I'm on the edge right now.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. I assume you've tried different slots.
 
maybe you could send a pm to modus...he seems to know alot about lucent lt modems...sorry though that i cant help...good luck
