I seem to be having problems with my Linksys Wireless Router (BEFW11S4 Wireless-B).

The thing I have trouble with is connecting with AOL Instant Messenger. Most of the time, I will try to logon, and it will get to "Starting Services" but it will just sit there for a while. Then it will go back to the logon screen. Sometimes, it will work if I unplug then plug back in my router. It also cannot hold a connection for long. When I do get connected, it will suddenly sign off after a while.

I know that the problem is with my router, because if I plug my computer directly into the cable modem it will work fine.

Everything else that uses the internet works fine. Internet browsing, online games, etc.

I do not use a wireless card, I am plugged into the router by a cable.

Is there anyone that might know what is going on?

Sounds like you need to open up the port for AIM. Find what port it uses from AOL's website, go to the router's configuration utility (192.168.1.1 in your browser, no username, password is "admin"), find the Port Triggering section (it's under Applications & Gaming if you have the updated firmware), and put in AIM's port range.

Should just be 5190-5190. That's how I have BearShare's port entered for both forwarding and triggering, and it seems to work.
