So, it's like this:
I have one Windows XP workstation (all updated) with an Realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC connected to a Level One wireless router WBR-3460 (wireless is disable, I'm all for cords around here) and it works like a charm, always has and always will.
Not I got a second workstation, Windows XP too (all updated) with a SiS 900-based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter, and I connected it to my router yesterday, all worked ok.
So I turned off the PC and went to sleep and then the next morning I turned it on to continue installing shit on it and so on and the stupid computer tells me the router didn't give him a network IP adress. Now, like, right now, he's trying to acquire one, and doesn't seem to show that "error" anymore, apparently...
I tried to go to the computer database of my router and see what's wrong, but it only shows my own first PC which has always worked fine and not the "new" one...
I can't connect to 192.168.0.1, the router address, from my second workstation, and I can't possibly seem to figure out what went wrong during the night. Can anybody help me?
Also, it's not a cable or port problem.
