Hi Guys,
I'm having problems with the K7ncr18d pro's audio. I have Windows XP pro and using Creative Inspire 5300 5.1 speakers. The audio is 5.1 channel soundstorm. The manual tells me that in order to utilize 5.1 speakers I have to plug the rear speaker plug into Line In and the center/subwoofer into the mic plug on the motherboard. It also tells me to tick the boxes to enable this in the advanced speaker settings, which I have done. Well all I am able to get is left and right surround and some low mumbling at times with the soundstorm speaker setup.
Because of this I tried using my Soundblaster Live 5.1 card. It worked for a while, but I think there are IRQ problems with it and the USB controller on the board because in the device manager I would get an exclamation point by the controller. Eventually the sound would get garbley and unbearable, so I took it out.
If anyone can help me Id greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I don't understand your problem. What is the initial trouble that caused you to switch to the SB Live?

Hi,
Well nothing really caused me to switch to SB Live. I just had that card when I built the PC and I thought I would use it instead of Soundstorm. My problem is that my soundblaster card sometimes isnt recognized or causes my USB controller to not work. Also when I try to update to the newest drivers they do not work. When the card DOES function Ive gotten horrible sound or just out of two speakers and it eventually gets worse. I dont know if there is a IRQ conflict or not, I dont have anything else in PCI slots.
My second problem is that when I try to revert back to Soundstorm, I cannot get 5.1 speaker system set up correctly. I use the red, blue and green plugs like it says to do for center/sub, rear and fromt speakers, but nothing works. I can only get left and right satellites to do anything.

I hope this clears things up. Thanks for your help and thanks for the bump Bri
