Problems with K7V133 and NICs?

Is anyone aware of problems with the K7V133 and NICs? Especially Netgear FA310TX? I have been having frequent hangs or freezes and thought I had a heat problems. But further investigation reveals that this only occurs during long downloads or file transfers. For expample, dwonloading a large file or transfering a large file or folder from one PC to another via my home ethernet network. So it appears that the common link is the network card and the protocols, drivers, etc.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem with this board and a NIC?

What BIOS version do you have?
What version of the Promise drivers? Is your HD running UDMA 100?
Do you have the latest via 4 in 1 drivers?
Are you OCing your machine?

I just flashed the BIOS to 1004 from 1003a. Did not fix problem....

Not sure about the Promise drivers, I'm not running RAID so I don't think they're installed.

I'm not overclocking. In fact, I tried underclocking (from 1200 down to 1008) because of the heat and the hangs. Did not fix problem....

What is the latest version of the VIA 4 in 1, and where can I get 'em?

One thing I forgot to mention. After the system freezes and I reboot. The machine won't connect to the network or internet unless I completely shut-down.

Loaded all the latest drivers and it still hangs on long file transfers.
