I have been having a real battle trying to get my Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer to work USB with my 7DXR. I had been running it with the ps2 adapter, trying to avoid fixing it but I started on it tonight and this is what's happening:
If I have the mouse unplugged when I reboot and then plug it in after the system has booted and I'm at the desktop screen, the mouse immediately works. I can go into device manager and see the following under mouse:
HID-Compliant Mouse
Microsoft USB Intellimouse Explorer
Once I reboot, at the desktop screen it says USB device found and then unknown device found. The mouse is not lit now and is not working. Now if I go into device manager, there is no listing for mouse at all and down in the USB section it will have an unknown device listing with either a yellow! or a red x.
I have the latest Intellimouse drivers, v3.2, and I'm running Win98se. Something happens during boot up where the mouse stuff for usb is not getting loaded or something.
Any help would be appreciated greatly!
