Problems with Intel D915PBL Motherboard

I just got the board yesterday. IT will power on, cpu fan spins, ps fan spins, led light on the board lights up, but i get no video when using basick pci. IF i remove memory, it beeps a me, which is good. But when I remove the video card, it should beep at me but it doesn't. I was just wondering if anyone has had the same problems or has any suggestions, thanks.

List out your complete system specs including your power supply please. Do you have an AGP card to test this with (assuming there is an AGP slot on the board)?

intel d915pbl
antec true power 380ps
pny(samsung chips) optimat ddr2-533 mem
1997 matrox mystique graphic card
p4 3.6 with stock hs and fan

i know the card and cpu work. about 99.9% sure the mem does as well

i have the same board, it's a pci-e for the main vc slot.

Go into the BIOS (press DEL during startup)
Advanced>Video Configuration set it to the EXT PCI video.
if that doesn't work, try some of the other settings.

I know its not pcix. I've already built one system using one of these boards. I don't have a pci expess graphic card, and the other system i built used a 1996 trident pci graphic card as its main display adapter. Only thing i can think is that the primary display adapter is set to pcix Is there a place for this in the bios to set primary display either pci or pcix. If there is, that could be the problem. I am going to recover the bios right now and see if that works.

Bad mobo, vid card or CPU is my guess.

Make sure the CPU is seated correctly, your CPU fan is connected to the right header, etc...

Also, double check the position of the CMOS clear (battery) jumper.

Gotta be the mobo or PSU, then. I bet it's the mobo.....

I know the cpu is good, and video card are good. PSU is Antec Truepower 380w. Memory is PNY Optima DDR2 533. I took off the heatsinks from the memory and they show to be Samsung K4T56083QF-GC05. Its weird cause when I searched the internet they came up as something different. I just don't understand why the board would act this way. Its very strange. I'm gonna purchase a pcx card and more memory tomorrow to see if anything changes. And then return them of course. The memory kit retails for 250. I really dont' think its the memory.

The board turns on all fans spin, monitor turns on then stand by mode for the monitor and I just sit there. Thanks for the help. (sratching my head...)

UPDATE: Progress made. I took the memory out and all power connectors, and cmos battery. Left them out for about 15 minutes. Put everything back in and got it to post in bios reset mode. I loaded default values and went to turn it off but power switch jumper wasn't attached so I had to pull the plug to turn it off. Turned it back on the right way and nothing. My questions are, what are the proper steps for removing cmos battery, main power connects, and changing jumper settings. I haven't been able to get it to get back into bios after 4 removal and installs of everything.

RKS- What does EXT PCI video mean in the bios? Does that mean a normal pci graphic card as primary?

that is what I would assume. Not really mentioned in the brief manual.
