Has anyone had an issue with the integrated sound? I am running an older "Turtle Beach" sound card (which I can't find any new drivers for). The sound card is alright for now, but I would like to get the integrated sound to work. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Could you explain the symptoms associated with it's not working? Does it show up in the device mangler? Is it enabled in the bios and drivers loaded for it? I used to have the original K7S5A and many thought they had audio problems and it turned out that it was because they weren't using powered speakers was the only problem, don't know if the pro has the same issue though.

You need to have a look at what onboard audio yours has - it might be a simple stereo ALC100 codec, or a 4-channel C-Media 9738. Load the respective driver for the one you have, and off you go.

I have the C-Media 9738 on board sound. I loaded the driver and still no sound. Should I remove the the Turtle Beach sound card, I have in my system, to see if that works? I don't what else is the the problem. Could I have and perfectly working motherboard and a defecitive onboard sound?

In some cases, a PCI sound card will disable onboard sound. I'd certainly pull the Turtle Beach and see if the on-board then works properly.

Most operating systems allow multiple sound cards - it might be that the default output device is still set to the other one. Check your Windows Multimedia Properties settings. Or just remove the PCI sound card if you're not going to use it anyhow.

I pulled the PCI sound card out, reinstalled the factory C-Media 5.12.1.25 drivers and still no sound. I am downloading the latest driver(I think) 5.12.1.34 and I am hoping this should work. If not, I'm at a lost, I don't what else to do.

Any other suggetsions?

Thanks!

As I recall, isn't there a SPDIF and/or front panel audio headers on that mobo? And if they are not being used, there are specific jumpers that need to in place for the rear audio out to work properly. You manual can tell you if any of these are missing.

Oh, it's a stupid question, but you do have your volume turned up and mute off, right? and you have tried all three ports on the back to make sure you are plugging into the correct one for sound out, right?
