Problems with @Home Internet

On one of my computers I am running the @Home browser(Microsoft IE) with @Home cable service. Until a day ago, it has been fine. Now I can go on the internet for only about 10-15 seconds after the computer boots up. Also, it keeps on freezing and crashing every 5 min. or so. I suspected a virus, so i ran McAffe and Norton AntiVirus and nothing came up. Both of my computers are hooked up to a router, and one of them has no problems(it also doesnt have the @Home browser on it), so i uninstalled the @Home stuff on the broken computer, and it still didnt work. I reinstalled it, and no luck. It's not the router because ive disconnected it and hooked the cable right into the broken computer, bypassing the router. Also, i can not go into the connection tab in Internet Options. Ive also tried using Netscape Navigator, and no luck there. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This sounds like an operating system problem rather than a cable modem problem.

I would simply do a OS reinstall for the computer that is giving you problems.

DO NOT install the @Home browser on any of your machines... 🙂

Good luck!

Yea, I think im going to have to just format. If I can't fix it by tomorrow, ill back up all my important files and reinstall. BTW, if it helps, I use Win 98SE. Lol, the @Home guy also told me not to use their software😀

I should add that you'll find more reliability in a W2K install, rather than W98SE. Especially for heavy Internet use...
