This isn't life threatening, but it has been bugging me for awhile. I installed some crappy software that has messed up hibernate mode. I uninstalled everything, still a problem. Went through the registry and System32 folder and deleted every instance of the software I could find, still a problem. NOW, for the problem: Start the computer, use the computer, enter Hibernate mode, everything is fine. Exit hibernate mode, use the computer, attempt to enter Hibernate mode, the computer freezes and I need to restart. I can enter hibernate mode once, but not twice in a row. After restart, the cycle begins anew. Any ideas?

Hi,

Have you tried disabling Hibernation in your Power Management and re-enabling (with a reboot in between)? I wonder if this would re-create the Hib. file and possibly remove the problem...

Worth a shot...

Regards,

Jonty.

Tried it. That didn't help. I could understand if it locked up going into hibernate everytime (something wouldn't be compatible with hibernate), but being able to do it, then not, that is the confusing thing.
