I just bought the Hauppauge WinTV Theater and I see these black horizontal lines or some form of distortion whenever there is movement on the screen, does anyone have any idea how to solve it?
This is how I carried out the installation process.
1. Plug card into PCI slot.
2. Connect WinTV audio out to sound card's audio in, connect cable from wall.
3. Refusing to use the drivers which came in the box, I downloaded the latest win2k drivers, the filename is w2kdrv307.exe. And ran it, with no probs.
4. Immediately following that, I ran the application installer, filename:
wintv2k221.exe
5. I tried running winTV32 or wintv2000 which both popped up on my desktop
but failed, the error message was "Failed to create TV Window. Another
application may be using the driver".
6. Decided to reboot the system, of which when i returned, couple of
windows popped up asking me if i wanted to proceed with the installation,
which i said yes.
7. Tried wintv2000 and the same error popped up. Tried WinTV32 and it
worked, the program scanned my cable for various channels and its only
afterwhich did I notice the black horizontal Streaks.
Sound works perfectly, its just the black horizontal streaks which only
appears when there is movement. My computer specification is below
