Problems with Hauppauge WinTV HVR 1600 tv card turner on desktop

Ok, so I installed a Hauppauge WinTV HVR 1600 to watch OTA HD channels (no recording or anythign else) on my computer <Dell desktop with XP Pro>...with WinTV version 6..can't use Version 7 at all.

Finally I was able to make it work but some channels (most of the HD channels) the sound doesn't work right..muffering or breaking up or some time..no sound at all..but other channels (DT channels)..the sound is perfectly right.


Does anyone know the fix(es)? TIA.

I used an old Hauppauge tv turner card on this computer for several years..but it could not pick up HD channels so I had to use this new 1600 card.

Check for the latest Hauppauge drivers. Also audio drivers.
However, it's probably due to a weak antenna signal.
Might also try the beta Windows 7, and see if that improves the audio any.
