I'm sorta rebuilding my system* and I'm replacing like one component per month
so I start with the vid. and get a gf2pro from msi,put it in the agp slot,do a clean install and everything is fine.then I install the drivers that came with it,reboot and after the boot logo "windoows 2000 built on nt..." all i get is a black screen with the same resolution/refresh rate as the booot process.
* the system
asus p2b rev1.02 bios 1012
128MB pc100 + 128 pc133 @112MHz 2-2-2
P!!!500(katmai)@560MHZ
300W atx psu
some other stuff that dont realy matter(?spelling?)
here's what I tried:
setting the fsb to 100MHz,pulling out the pc100 stick,pulling out the sound card,seting the memory to cas3,lowering the agp aperature size to 8MB,insulating the last pair of contacts on the gf2(dont know where I got that from),reinstalling w2k with standard pc hal,then installing 12.41 drivers.that didn't get me anywhere either
the old vid card is a voodoo3 agp that works fine,only its slow as hell
does anyone have an idea about what I can do to make the geforce work in this system
