nothing has been overclocked
alright, so here's my stats:
2GB corsair memory (TWINX) 3-3-3-8-1t
fx-53 on an MSI NF3 neo2 platinum (skt 939)
thermalright xp-120 (120mm fan on it running 80cfm)
med-full tower with 6 fans
pny 6800ultra 256mb (latest drivers)
audiotrak prodigy 7.1 (latest drivers)
120gb sata HD (Western digital)
Ultra 500w PS (x-connect)
couple problems. First I couldnt get SETI@home to run stable for more than 20min. I pushed voltage up on proc to 1.55v and mem to 2.7v then it ran fine.
Second problem little more severe:
HL2 Source engine games freeze randomly, gives a buzzing repeating sound and then unfreezes and keeps playing, but happens more frequently as time goes along (sometimes as much as 4 times a min for a duration of up to 25sec. Everquest2 does it less frequently, and much more randomly. sometimes its stable on EQ for hours and then starts up, sometimes it just starts choking on load in. UT2k4 (on highest lvl graphics will run smoothly but start hiccuping within 10min) if loaded at about med graphics, it has the ability to run stable for more than an hour before starting the freezing thing.
i have replaced the motherboard, and the graphics card. I have run memtest so its not that unless it needs more voltage??
im fresh out of ideas guys. Im not a noob when it comes to this stuff, but i've tried a lot of things, including putting a vantec card cooler underneat the graphics card.
help?
