problems with floppy

cant access information on a floppy which i used without problems 2 weeks ago, when i insert the message reads 'this disk is not formatted' it also isnt listing the information i added to the disk 2 weeks ago! Im pretty sure i saved the info to disk - im also having problems removing and inserting the disk - could this be a pc problem or a disk problem

Most like 1 Disk problem...esp if you had it close to magnets, abused, handled roughly, or just plain wear n tear...

the disk has been in the drive for 2 weeks - hasnt been near magnets or handled roughly - is there any way i can retrieve data from it?

Just try it in another Floppy. If you get the same message, your data is gone.

Have you tried cleaning the drive ?

Usual problem with XP. Try it on a PC with w98 or ME and it may read it with no problems. The Floppy is old and you may need to slide the metal cover back and forth a few times.
