Problems with file association in Win98

I have a problem with associating some files in Win 98 following the deinstallation of one of those graphic proggys that comes with scanner software. After I deinstalled this program - I believe it was Adobe Photo Business or some such - I found that my graphic files such as .bmp's .gif's and .jpg's are still linked to it in file association dialogs. When I try to re-associate these files with Paint or IE, an error dialog appears telling me that they are linked with Photo Business and to try something else. Yet I can't try anything else because of the dialog box. What gives? Any ideas, folks? 😕
