I have installed EAC 0.9b4 with LAME 3.92 and it seems i cannot change the encoding quality. In the Compression options i changed "Bit Rate" and also tried to change the bit rate in "additional command line options", but i always get the same file size.

What is wrong here?

What quality do you use? I used to do all my mp3's in 128 kbit/s, but now want to change to 160 or 192 with vbr. What would you recommend?

In the encoding options, make sure you don't select LAME as the external, but the "other" external compressor. Then, make sure you change the command line options to something like: --r3mix, or --alt-present extreme. The --r3mix is pretty good, but I have more disc space to burn and am using the --alt-preset extreme.

I was working on my mp3 encoding yesterday and it was quite nice having two threads of encoding while still ripping and playing with my new rig.
