Problems with EPoX 8KTA3+: HELP!

Seeing as no one is helping me on the general hardware forum, I hope someone here can lend a hand.

I have been struggling with this problem for over a day now. Here is what I did:

1. Installed Windows 98 SE
2. Installed VIA 4-in-1 drivers; reboot
3. Installed SB Live! Value Windows 98 drivers; reboot
4. After booting successfully, reboot into safe mode
5. Reinstall VIA 4-in-1 drivers; per instructions
HERE
6. Reboot

After my system reboots, Windows 98 starts and immediately tells me that "Windows has finished installing hardware", and asks me to reboot. I reboot, and when Windows starts up, everything works great. But the next time I reboot, it does the same thing again; it immediately tells me that "Windows has finished installing hardware". So I choose "NO" this time, boot into Windows, and see "Device Manager" to see what is going on. Well, my primary and secondary IDE controller says that "device cannot work correctly until the compter restarts (code 14)". I reboot, and everything works again. I already tried installed the VIA IDE busmaster drivers, and it didn't help. It seems that this started after installed SB Live! drivers.

Please help!

Have you gone out to Creative and downloaded the latest drivers for the SBLive? These drivers add the ability for the SBLive to share IRQ7 with the LPT1 port for the SB16 Emulation. Boot with a floppy, with only the system files on it and you should see a list of devices and the IRQ's that the bios assigns to them. If the bios is assigning IRQ5 to your SBLive that could be the problem. Without the drivers from the creative web site, this IRQ assignment causes my CD burner to disappear.
I would either disable SB16 Emulation or allow it to share the IRQ with the LPT port.

thanks for your help!

I disable the SB16 Emulation, and it seems like it fixed the problem...

I would still like to get the new drivers from soundblaster. Unfortunately, it is not available... =(
