Problems with EAC detecting Audio CDs, i think its a problem with the Intel Application Accelerator

problem is EAC does not detect it but Windows Media Player does as well as Music Match Jukebox and they play fine in either

i dont know why i think it is IAA maybe a hunch i guess

I have the exact same problem...before IAA, EAC worked fine.

Now, EAC doesn't recognize an audio CD when everything else will...very frustrating and doesn't matter what ASPI drivers are used.

I'd uninstall, but I'm too lazy to troubleshoot this right now.

wow... I've had this same problem, but never thought it was an EAC/Intel problem. I just figured I got a weird batch of new cds or something, even though one was made in 1997...

thanks for this thread,mchammer187, and thanks for the fix, sean2002. I'll go try it out now...

ok, I tried the ZIPped version of EAC 0.9pb4 and it still does not work. 🙁

any other ideas?

anything else rip WAVs as well as EAC that I could try?

On my machine, EAC doesn't recognize a CD the first time I start it up. However, after ejecting and re-inserting the CD, it detects fine and for all inserted CDs thereafter. However, once I close and open EAC again, I'll have to eject and re-insert again.

So if you haven't tried this yet, perhaps you can give it a go to see if we both have the same problem.

Hope that helps,

I got adaptec's ASPI drivers 4.71.1 and installed those...once I re-configured EAC to use the installed (instead of native) layer, it worked with the IAA drivers installed.

Thanks JetBlack69.

sweet! I updated my ASPI layer earlier today to Adaptec's 4.71, rebooted, ran EAC, selected F9 then "installed external ASPI interface", closed EAC, opened EAC again, then my cd read fine. cool! 🙂

Your welcome 🙂. I didn't know the newest drivers are 4.71.1, thanks for the heads up.
