Hi
I have a vpr matrix 1760(it;s a samsung moniter) when I use DVI the controls on the screen are locked. I mean I cann't change anything is that true that if I use a LCD in a DVI I cann't change any of the settings. Does anyone has the same moniter. I finally got DVI to work after 45 minutes playing around with it.
Thanks

Hi Anu76, on my Dell LCD when I use DVI the LCD automatically centers and sets the refresh rates. My controls are locked as well, it may be a function of the DVI interface?

Most of the screen controls (contrast, phase, position, size, color balance and everything else related to interpretation of an incoming analog signal) are redundant when the incoming signal is digital. So yes, this is normal.

You have to set it via software controls.

Hi Everyone
I didn't know that when DVI is used all the screen controls get locked. That't the first time I heard about controls getting locked. I called the tech support and he said controls shouldn't be locked. TechMasterChen did you call the Dell Tech Support and what they have to say .Which software I can use " have to set it via software controls. ". I am fine with the refresh rate but the screen is too bright . Whats the benefit of using DVI(signal is not getting converted from digital to analog which makes a better picture quality).

With my 172T, I can turn down the brightness manually via the controls. What I can't do is alter the individual RGB levels. Those are locked out. I have to change those with the software colour controls that came with my video card.

Hi Eug
Which card you have, I have a G4(4200) mine doesn't have any software. Why are the controls locked with DVI doesn't make any sense.

I just downloaded the standard ATI drivers for my Radeon 9100. There is a full set of colour adjustments in there.

With the 40 series drivers go to display settings advanced geforce 4. Then select nview display mode and click on device settings. Should be a color correction option. You can use that to fix colors and brightness if it's too bright.

I have also noticed that when I shutdown my PC I see lots of small squares on the screen is that normal.Did any one also have the same problem.
Thanks
