I tried to put my BTC DVD-ROM drive in my home server and when I rebooted for the first time after installation the machine froze at: "Completed updating files, continuing to start Windows". I un-hooked the DVD after a few tries and the machine booted right into windoze, however, during the post it came up with a Non-ATAPI compatible device as Secondary Master. ????????????? I turned off the secondary IDE autodetect in the BIOS and right now am running fine with just my 2 HDD's on Primary channel. This is a Pentium II 350, with 128MB RAM, AGP 8Meg 3d graphics card and soundblaster on a Hewlett-Packard Vectra XA machine. Any hints on how to get this device recognized. It does have a setting for Auto in the BIOS that supposedly, lets it see non-ATAPI devices (didn't work).

Got it! For now anyway. It seems the only way this unit will let me run a DVD is as a slave to another drive. So, I set up another HDD as master on the secondary channel and the DVD as slave. Up and running for now. Thanks. Raven
