Problems with domain-controller

Have this problem and not sure what to do to solve it. We have a Win 2000 domain controller. The machine itself works fine, but when one of the client computers tries to log-on or log-off it takes literally 20-30 minuets. Every step like loading profile, running log-on scripts, etc. is really slow and takes ages. I've already checked the system log and can't see anything in there that would hint at the cause of this. System status in task manager looks just fine, and the system is running on a 100Mbps network.

Any ideas on what this could be?

Nevermind, we figured it out. The client computer had the local DNS server entered as well as an external. I removed the external one and everything was normal again.
