i recently bought a x1010. I like the notebook in general but the video is now giving me some issues.
I have the option of "do nothing" selected under what to do when you close the lid of your laptop.
But still then... when i close the laptop, and open it again, then i lose the video. The screen just goes black. Once it was that there was no backlight, so i could barely see anyhting. But most of the time, and this happens around 80% of the time, i open it and there is just simply no video.
Could it be a video driver issue? I havent updated anything from the stock setup yet.
Any help would be appreciated. Anybody else ever have the same problem with other laptops?
I had another presario 2100 sseries before this... that neve had any issues...
TIA

Even with "Do Nothing" selected, your screen will turn off when you close the lid. But it seems you have a problem with the video not coming back on.

My X1000 has about a .5-1 second delay between when I open the lid and when the video restores. Either the ACPI or video drivers control this. Try updating both. Be sure to use the driver from Compaq, since it will be most compatible with your power save hardware (i.e. the little button by the screen hinge that shuts off the display backlight).
