Problems with Catalyst 4.11 Control Center

Hello,

Last nite I finally set up my new system (A64 2800+Chaintech VNF3-250+Info-tek 9600 pro), I downloaded and installed the 4.11 Catalyst from ATI website and I picked the 29mb package that includes Catalyst Control Center.

After rebooting windows reports error with "cli.exe", it says that some mscoree.dll can't be found. The display driver is working (I can adjust resolution, color depth etc), but I don't see any advanced ATI options (I suppose they are within the Catalyst Control Center). If I try to manually run the CCC it reports the error again.

Am I missing something here ??. When I return home tonight I'll try the 26mb package that comes with the Control Panel instead of the Control Center and see the result, but if anyone know what might be the problem with my current installation please let me know. I think I've heard that the 4.12 drivers will require the Control Center.

Thanks,

Quanta

Did you see the note on the site about having to have .NET Framework Version 1.1 installed in order to use CCC?

edited to add: I don't know anything about CCC. I'm just practing my internet search skills and a search on mscoree.dll leads me to this .NET Framework business. I have to say that at first glance, that all looks like something that wouldn't interest me at all. Hard to believe that 4.12 would require it. Hard to believe it would ever be required. If so, sounds like a good reason to stop at 4.12b.
