Problems with buy.com Google chekcout... anybody else?

Ordered a 2 gig refurb nano for my 8yo daughter on Nov. 28

Went through Google Checkout for the $20 coupon
Since I ordered it and received confirmation I haven't gotten a single mail
I finally checked my order status which, by the way, they need to work on. My buy.com account has no record of the transaction you have to go through the google account to find out your order number, then go back to buy.com and fill out a page so they can check your status... Just seems like the buy.com account should be updated with that info when you make the purchase... anyway...

It's apparently out of stock and on order, I e-mailed beginning of the day yesterday and will call after lunch... Damn.. I'm in a bit of a bind, this is the big gift she wanted and she came through on a lot of deals to get it.

I can't offer much insight as I used it for the first time last night...

However, what happens when you click the "Check the status of this order anytime in your Google Account." It should be titled, "Order receipt from Buy.com ($xx.xx)"

In mine it brings me to a status page on Google's website and has literally every detail speced out! Down to the confirmation emails from Buy.com and Google, the credit card charge, etc.

I'm sure you may have clicked it, but who knows. What does yours say?

I ordered some DVDs, and after two weeks they were still 'on order'. But the other half-dozen google checkout orders I've run through Buy.com have arrived very quick, some even next day. In fact, I'm going to pick up one of those 512 Zen Nanos ($10 AR) for a stocking stuffer right now ...

Edit: I'm having a hell of a time putting the order through this morning, continually getting error pages before I complete the submission process. Great.

Get your buy.com order # off the google checkout receipt.
Go here and plug in the number and other info.

You should be able to see your order on the buy.com site by doing that.

Ive gotten everything Ive ordered from them through google VERY quickly. I assume as Christmas gets nearer that they will slow down a little as volume goes way up.

yup, google check out is flakey.

after i got google confirmation #, buy.com had no record of it when i asked a week later. and of course the item is sold out.

Yeah I like how they don't tell you an item is out of stock. The fatality mouse has been sent to warehouse for me for the last 10 days. And it takes them 2 weeks to issue a cancellation and/or refund.

SO.

I got no shipping, no contact , no response to my email for over 24 hours AND I'm out $125.

This is their headquarters number I believe. You need to ask to talk to a rep. I haven't confirmed it. 949-389-2000

Thanks Mosh, I owe you a beer, or a cosmo, or whatever...

that's the number, and you can get to support fairly quickly. I spoke to a rep who sounded a bit shell-shocked, like he's used to getting yelled at, poor guy. Real nice guy, actually.
The item is on back-order, they don't know ehn they'll get more.
All the other similarly priced ipods are also out of stock currently, so I just had him cancel it.

Apple's store actually happens to have it in stock for $25 LESS than I payed at buy.com even after the Google coupon.
So bought it from there and upgraded the free shipping to two day.

The failure from buy.com was not sending an e-mail when it was found to be on backorder, and the CSR did not have the ability to really proactively help me (couldn't search for like items, to check stock, only sku).
Buy.com will have to offer some incentive if they want me back, I got hassled and got nothing out of the experience.

I just ordered a mouse from Buy today using Google Checkout and amazingly didn't have any problems this time. As a matter of fact, it's already shipped. That shocked the hell out of me. LOL
