problems with bridged connection...

Here is my network setup, a pic is easier than explaining it. Text.

Anyway, the computer with the bridged connection has 2 ethernet cards in it so I enabled bridging between the two connections. Set up this way, the comp furthest to the right has working internet and network. However, the PC with the bridged connection is no longer "on the network." I cannot access the internet from it and I cannot access it's shares over the network either.

Is there something I am not doing or should I be using ICS instead of bridging the 2 connections?

Since you have a Router you do not need ICS (it is Routing Software).

Bridge shouls work unless you are Not configuring it right.

Second NIC and crossover computer have to be first on Static IP that is Not on the same subnet as the rest of the Network.

thanks for your quick reply. The problem is that once I have the bridge enabled, the bridging computer no longer has its own IP; you can no longer set the ip's of the 2 NIC's, only the IP of the bridge. The bridge gives itself a local private address 169.something.

Heres what I did:
1. connected the PC with 2 ethernet cards to the router via card 1.
2. connected the far right PC to the dual ethernet comp via crossover cable to card 2.
3. selected both connections and click bridge.

outcome:
1. internet and network works perfect on the far right comp.
2. the PC bridging the two connections no longer is able to access the internet.

What the hell? It can't access it's own bridge? Do I need to somehow enable this?

edit: Changing the IP of the bridge doesn't affect anything. The far right PC is still fine and the bridging PC still doesn't have access.

edit2: apparently I am mistaken. when I changed the IP of the bridge to be on the same subnet as the rest of the network, the internet on it still doesn't work but network access to and from DO work. Now I am even more confused. While internet access on this comp isn't essential (its jsut a file server) it would be nice.
