Hello,
I just purchased a Radeon 8500LE, and I am using Catalyst drivers in Windows XP. Here is my problem. When I boot up to with only the monitor attached, the computer boots fine. Then, I can attach the S-video cable, switch to my TV-OUT video mode (to which I have assigned hotkey ctrl-alt-T), and get beautiful Tv output. However, if I boot the computer with either just the tv or both the tv and monitor, i get NO output on either the TV or the monitor. Well, that's not entirely true. Rather, I get a solid black or green screen on the TV, and nothing on the monitor. S-video cables are fragile, and I really don't want to have to plug and unplug it every time I reboot. So, does anyone know how to get the Radeons to boot properly to TV-ouput, or at least boot properly so that I can switch to TV output. Right now, anytime I boot with the s-video cable attached, I cannot get output on anything, even by using hotkeys to switch between default and tv display themes. The only solution I see is to always go to standby rather than shut down, but I am sure this is not the only option that the card allows. If anyone knows what I need to do, please share. Thanks!
