FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.

so i had a look at the nMonitor log files:
it seems that at 3.20PM this afternoon, the program stopped logging my CPU temperature, only me 2 GPU temps
take a look at these excel sheets :
www.fastlikehell.com/temp/p95.xls
you can see that the in the first logfile in the beginning there are still loggings of my CPU temp, then suddenly it disappears and moves to two GPU temps to the left
in the second log file it even removes the "cpu temperature" column completely

also, after i saw the prime 95 error, i wanted to post it on this board, and when i tried to open up firefox i got a bluescreen directly followed by a reboot
event viewer shows the following things:

i guess i kinda found the bug, now i just need to find out why and what exactly happens

when i had an issue like that in prime95, i had a memory problem, one was bad the other was good. maybe take out 3 sticks and run memtest overnight again on each stick and see who is the culprit (but the error will probably show up in less than 1 hour). i know it sounds like a pain in the ass, but that is what i did. also, did you do the tortue test?

i ran memtest again, and started having errors again after about 13%
i rebooted and set the timing values to auto (they where set to 5-2-2-2), and the errors were gone :s
now i'm gonna reset the timings and see if the errors occur again

run cpu-z and see what the spd on the memory modules say they should run at. timings are not too important on a64, so if you have to run 3-3-3 don't worry about it, but if you paid for 2-2-2 stuff, i would be more worried about the $$$ vs the performance.

personally i would call ocz tech support, they are excellent. they may tell you to add a little voltage to the memory as that board migh undervolt just a bit, but i would give them a call -

hmm, i just ran CPU-Z, and it told me that my memory supports 8-3-3-2.5 timings
i had a look on the OCZ site, and i found that appearantly my mobo isn't supported
so i guess the RAM will work on my rig, only not with the correct timings...

i put all the DDR settings on "auto" now in the bios
this is what CPU-Z says :
cpuz.jpg

is it normal that the memory is only clocked at 167Mhz? it should be at 217...
i think i'll make a post about this on the OCZ forums, they really seem to have great support

it is only showing 157...which is weird, is there any type of a memory divider on it?

personally i would call ocz, they are awesome on the phone and know their stuff, just like on their forums, but you get the answer now.

i called OCZ support, they seem really great guys, i spoke to Sean and he sure know what he was talking about (not the case with most companies), after a while we got the system running stable on 2*512 dimms, now we only have to get it running at 4*512 dimms

but bob, you've been a great help, and i might have something in return for you, mail me if you're interested 🙂
