I'm running the free version of AVG 8.0. Its perfectly fine but lately its been showing errors sometimes and it will say "you are not protected" because it failed to update. Then I manually update it and it goes back to being fine.

My machine is on broadband and is usually on so why is it having trouble automatically updating?

This is b.s. I expect better out of my free software... Anyone else experience this?

I will give that a try. Thank you!!

edit: Ran the batch file, seemed to work. I'll see if the problem happens anymore.
The wierd thing is that in AVG there is a box underneath the program and its in japanese or something. I don't know what thats all about.

No problem! :)

But, the box underneath the programme window in Japanese part is confusing me. Can you post a screenshot of it if possible?

I'm not really too sure after seeing the screenshot. Does the software come with a language changing option anywhere? It looks like an alert of some sort with a 'Next' option in the red box (I'm assuming). Can anyone say what it is exactly?

Btw, nice wallpaper on your desktop! :)

Sam25, if you like that desktop background, I found it here:

some neat stuff on this person's site!

it's the thumbnail about 10 or so down the page :)

ConBas, is that HD inspector you are running in that screenshot?? (referring to the temp. reading in your system tray)

Also, thanks guys for your help on this issue!
