Problems with auto-run in win98 with DVD drive - help please!

Hey all. I just built a computer for a customer. Celery 566-850 i810e motherboard. However, I can't run *Any* installation program off any cd, with exception of windows98. What should I do? The computer seems stable, and I reinstalled windows. But when I try to run autorun for the Canon BJC600, I get all kinds of goofy errors such as - invalid executable file, etc. And when I try to autointall the software for office, it tells me that the disk I have is not an installation disk, when it is infact the original Office 2K disk. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try going to the correct speed and working from there. It could be that you are pushing the IDE bus. I was getting issues trying to burn when over clocked, but everything else was fine. It could be the cdrom drv, hard drive, the cables, or just the IDE bus itself isn't liking the higher FSB.

thanks - I'll try reducing the speed, and reconnecting all the cables. I didn't want to open up the case again, but it looks like I have no choice.
