Problems with audio in Vista Ultimate 64bit

I have a Sony Vaio VGC-RA840G that I really love and I want to hold onto it as long as possible. Media Center 2005 just isn't cutting it for me anymore, so I upgraded to Vista Ultimate 64 bit. Everything is going smoothly so far, except for one thing.

When I first installed Vista it told me there were no sound drivers installed. Odd, but okay. So I went on Realtek's site (since the Vaio uses Realtek) and installed the driver for 64 bit Vista. Audio from video and music play fine without any problems, but the system sounds have a latency pop and slight crackle before they are played. It is kind of annoying and I'd like to fix it but I can't seem to find out how.

I've tried installing older drivers, disabling the HDMI audio from my soundcard, etc but to no avail. Any advice would be appreciated.

::EDIT:: Nevermind, I finally found the solution, which was going into the Realtek HD audio monitor and separating the audio jacks into separate ports. I'm not sure why they were all tied up to the same, but that seems to have fixed it.
