Problems with ATi Radeon XPress 200M in Windows XP x64

My friend and I have been trying to get his video drivers installed for his HP notebook after we wiped the drive and installed Windows XP x64, but none of the drivers are working--yes, we dowloaded the 64 bit drivers. They will successfully install, but aside from that, the "Settings" tab in "Display Settings" still reads something like "(Default monitor) on Standard Video Graphics Adapter".

Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
