Problems with AsusK7V and Radeon 9500

I can't get to work a Sapphire Radeon 9500 with an Asus K7V. All i get is random colors during the boot, and forever.

Any known compatibilty problems?
My system is 98SE, Athlon 750, 256Mb PC133, SCSI AVA 2904 with SCSI cd-rom and cdrw. Latest drivers and bios.

power supply plugged into the card?

Plugged, yes.

I even tried to unplug it, and a nice message warned me to plug it.
On other systems (socket A) the card works perfectly

The system boots fine with another card?

Absolutely yes.

Could it be maybe some problem with AGP fast write, because I heard it's not perfect on K7V?

Its not going to hurt to disable fastwrites to check..in fact perhaps you should use fail safe settings in your bios first thing.
