Problems with Asus V7100

I recenlty bought a ASUS V7100 and it is giving me problems. It seems to work fine with OpenGL games like quake but when i play games which use D3D like unreal tournament and wheel of time it freezes. I usually get to the options menu but soon afterwards it freezes. It doesnt go blank or make lines, it just freezes. I have a ASUS P3V4X motherboard with 64Mb RAM and i use the ASUS drivers for the video card. If anyone can help i would appreciate it
