I think there is an issue with the Asus M3A78-T bios. When I set the vcore to any voltage the power monitor in the bios shows its always 0.05v below what I set it to. For example if I set the bios to 1.45v the power monitor will show its at 1.4v. Also with the fsb setting, when I set the value in the bios it doesnt change.....cpuz, everst, amd overdrive all show the fsb is still 200mhz.

Anyone else have this issue?

Hardware:
AMD X2 5400+ BE
OCZ Reaper 2x2gb pc8500
Asus M3A78-T

Late reply, but maybe you're still looking for an answer so... on mine the vcore is off by at most 0.015V, usually more like 0.005V (currently set at 1.375, but in the BIOS it reads as low as 1.360 but fluctuates between that, 1.366 and 1.369). Unforunately I can't say anything about the FSB setting as I've only bothered with the multiplier in mine. Get the 0306 BIOS update if you don't already have it, might help with both. I didn't use the 0204 long enough to check anything out real well.

Unfortunately I'm having problems with this board as well. Apparently with the early BIOSes no matter what fsb you set it always comes up as 200 in Windows. Lol and I can't even get to 2.6GHz with this board. This is the 2nd 790GX board that I've had that sucks real bad.

The Asus M3A78-T does not list the Phenom 9850BE as a supported cpu.

I managed to get 2.9GHz at 1.375v out of this board (don't really wanna push higher right now). It doesn't always boot the 1st time but I can eventually get it going after 1 or 2 tries and is totally stable in Windows...plus the cool and quiet features works properly regardless of whether you overclock with HTT or multiplier changes whereas it didn't with the Gigabyte DS4H board I had before.

I noted earlier this week that Asus has 'flipped' (again-lol) and now supports the Phenom 9850 BE. Sorry for jumping the gun on that one.

Between the Gigabyte and the Asus 790gx I take it you prefer the Asus. I'm trying to decide between one of those or a DFI 790fx w/sb750.

Did you choose 'QVL memory' for the mobo? What brand RAMs are you using?
