Hi All,

I would appreciate some input on some issues I am having with a new PC I put together last week. Here is the system configuration:

Asus A8N-SLI Premium nForce4 SLI Athlon 64(FX)/Sempron/Athlon 64 X2 Skt939 DDR Motherboard w/Audio, Dual Gigabit LAN, RAID/Serial ATA

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Processor Socket 939 Retail

ASUS EN7800GTX GeForce 7800 GTX PCI Express 256MB

4 Corsair CMX512-3200C2 512MB DDR400 PC3200 XMS Memory w/Heat Spreader

Antec TruePower 2.0 TP-II 480 Blue 480W Power Supply

Western Digital Raptor WD740GD 74GB Serial ATA 10,000RPM Hard Drive w/8MB Buffer

NEC ND-3540A 16X Double Layer DVD±RW Bare Drive

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Sound Card

Here is a breakdown of the issues I am currently experiencing:

I've been getting a lot of corrupt files, divide by 0 errors, crashes. I've checked the system temperature, and according to Asus Probe, is remaining constant. I'm also getting performance problems while playing 3d intensive games, ranging from crashes, staggering, etc.

I've run MemTest86 and it has not found errors. I've also tried using only two sticks in dual channel mode and still experience the same problems. Everything seems to be pointing to bad memory, but before I go and exchange it for better RAM, I thought maybe someone could shed some light on what else might cause these problems and perhaps some other testing I should do. Thanks in advance!

How long have you run MEMTEST86? You should run it at least 12 hours to establish your RAM's stability.

Are you overclocking (CPU or Vid card)? If so, don't for now and see if it becomes stable.

What's your CPU temp?
