I have an Asus A7V133 system with 2- 30GB IBM 75GXP hard drives. I have them in a RAID 0 config, and all has been running smoothly for the past few months. About 2 weeks ago, somthing goofy started happening. I booted up, and one of the hard drives on the RAID was making a weird noise...kinda squeeking. I got all scared and pulled all the drives out, put them back in, and all was good...for a while. Now, every once in a while when booting, i get the "ATA 100 BIOS" screen instead of the "Promise RAID" screen while booting. I have to restart a few times for it actually to work.
Now as for the Hard drive squeaking problem, I would guess the HD was going bad...but what is with the Promise bios glitches?
