I believe I have a bx6 rev. 2 mobo from Abit. I have had it for about 3.5 years and there is an overclocked celeron 366@550 in it. Last year the system stopped booting, I began to fear that the cpu was shot. I reseated the cpu, and the system began to work again. However, now during boot up the mobo posts the system information, then says "Updating ESCD..." and the monitor blinks on and off for about 3 minutes before the system finally starts.
I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem may be. I have reseated the cpu several times to no avail. Also I noticed in startup that my serial controller and my network adapter have the same IRQ, I'm not sure if that's the problem. I also downloaded these "dozer" video drivers for my voodoo 3, which I recently found out were infected with a virus. I've reformatted the hard drive and I'm trying to reinstall XP, but this flashing and delayed bootup is presenting me with problems
thanks for any help.
