A couple of months ago, I purchased one of the refurb Albatron Ti4280 128Mb (Ti 4200 8x AGP) cards from Newegg. Worked great for about a month, but then it started having problems. Video distortions/artifacts on WinXP splash screen and in Windows, system freezes. I wondered if it was overheating and ran with my case open, but no change. It does seem to work if I power off for an hour or more, but then after a reboot (even an immediate one) the problems surface.
Unfortunately I was past Newegg's RMA timeframe for refurb items, so I contacted Albatron via their website. "Dr. Pro" replied with a form to fill out... in great detail. I did so, and the reply I received was that their VGA card couldn't cause these problems, I need to format my drive and reinstall the OS and drivers. Uh, right. But I eventually did, and the symptoms remain. I also was able to try the card in a couple of other PCs, and it exhibits the same symptoms. It's been 2 weeks since I emailed Albatron all of this info, and they have not responded further to my case.
Besides never dealing with Albatron ever again, anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
