Problems with AIM in XP Pro.

I've been having a problem with AIM lately- it seems to be a pretty simple one, I just dont know how to fix it. Basically whats happening is when I start up the computer the aim icon never gets displayed in the tray area. Its not hidden or anything, its just not there. Resizing the taskbar doesnt help. Does anyone have any ideas?

i've noticed the same problem with 4.7.2480, but for me it works most of the time. Occasionly though on a reboot the icon will not appear. Don't know what causes it, but hopefully AOL will fix it in their next release.

It seems to be coming and going now. At first I thought it might be some settings I put on tweakui, because right after I fooled with that aim came back on the next reboot. However, a couple reboots later aim started having the same problem. So, my problem is the same as ngupt02's - it comes and goes. Unfortunately I screwed up IIS when I tried to go to a system restore point right after I installed XP, so I'm going to have to reformat my desktop for the third time in two days. Funny that my laptop has the exact same configuration as my desktop and does not have this problem. *knock on wood*

BTW windows messenger doesn't work at all. ( I dispatched it using the group policy editor). *Turns to face Redmond* Muhahahhahahahahahhaha

Does Trillian let you download your buddy list from aol's servers?
