I have had an Abit IP35 for some time now, and love it. So I decided to get another and this one is the IP35 Pro. I have several issues and have read some of the other posts but its not too many lately. has everyone settled in on stable setups yet?
I get reboots even with the latest bios.
I have high cpu core voltages sometimes in cpuz compared to what is set in bios.
COD4 crashes with a mild overclock. (seems to be worse since I got a HD4870)
UGURU will not run at all.
I had to send 2 of my 4 corsair dominator 8500 chips back, would not boot with those 2 in.

Can someone reply with the changes they used in bios setup
I upped the core volts to 1.365v (cpuz says 1.51 ?)
the memory to 2.10v
NB 1.29 (up one notch)
antec 550 ps

you'll probably have to take the MCH voltage above that when you get 4 DIMMs.
I would trust uGuru for voltages over CPU-Z - what version of uGuru are you trying to run?
what CPU & what BIOS version?

I tried the one from the abit driver site for the IP35 pro. It doesn't run but I will try to find out what ver it is.

are you sure the driveragent is ok to load?

It's very safe. Works with both IE and Firefox. Install the required browser plugin onto whichever browser you don't use much, if you want to be extra cautious.

ok I will have to give it a try. I am getting ready to just re-load vista its something wrong with this having all that memory (40-50% now)being used all the time.

i was gonna recommend you switch back to bios 16, but i see you've already done that. there was definitely a funky temp/voltage thing going on with b17 a few months ago when they first released it; i was getting much worse readings at the same settings. i've got a quad in there instead, so not much else i can help with. gl.

The sys in my sig is my other plain IP35 and its good. The one I just am setting up is a IP35 Pro and I am on bios 17. maybe I will try 16. I popped in another drive last nite and did a clean install with vista ult 64 not OC yet, and it seems ok now from what I have looked at, but it was late and I need to do some overclocking and see. In auto the voltages seen to be reading ok, and uguru runs now. Keep in mind I am not OC yet. I setup dual boot so I can go back and see if its a problem with the other install. Constant memory usage is also down but I did not load a lot on yet.

Just a FYI but Vista is supposed to show more ram used, especially when you only have 2GB. Vista does a decent job pre-loading often used programs into ram so that when you are ready to use them they launch much faster, this is why the ram is showing used.

Personally I didn't buy ram (8GB in my main vista box, 2GB in my other) to have it sit idle all the time, I would rather vista uses it so my programs launch faster.

Ok I am seeing the same thing now I am looking closer into this. Thanks for your input. I am now waiting for my other 2 sticks to come back from Corsair RMA.

My system was built in Jan this year so it's got some time on it. First 90 days or so were frustrating for some reason. Fired up just fine outta the box and overclocked very easily (see my sig).

But Windows Vista kept finding an 'unknown device' in the Device Manager that I never could get rid of. The PC ran just fine with 2.0G RAM then I added 2 more to it. For 90 days with 4 sticks of RAM, it ran GREAT. Then one day all hell broke loose. I couldn't tell if my hard drives had failed, caught a virus, or it was just bad RAM.

I sent all the RAM back for exchange & erased Windows. That was the beginning of Summer. When the RAM came back from the manufacturer, I did a fresh install of Vista using the four gigs of RAM.

Voila. No 'unknown device' in the device manager, and I've had a very VERY stable system ever since. It's on 24/7 and I'm completely satisfied now.

Perhaps your motherboard has something flakey like mine did originally. I wish I had an answer for you and I wish I could know for sure what the problem was with mine - but I do hope your issue goes away like mine did.

I am also siding toward something wrong with the first vista install. Now I have 2 Hd's with vista 32 on the first and vista 64 on my second. I use mostly 100% the second 64bit install now until I have time to look into this more. I am getting my second 2 sticks back from Corsair in a few days they finally shipped. I had to wait 2 weeks they said the high demand they could not ship until 10-15 they had them back 10-3. I hope they install smooth with out causing problems. With 2 bad sticks my orig install could have been messed up.
I know a lot of people are running the Pro but not too many post here. I was just wandering what voltages and settings others are using with the E8xxx series chips.

edited my profile to show 2 systems IP35 (Reg) and IP35 PRosome were confused. So far I like the standard board. Seems to overclock better. Again I did not swap parts but I plan to when I have time.
2 systems 1-IP35 (Reg),2x2 Dominator 8500,HD4870, well see below
2-IP35 Pro,4x1 Dominator 8500,8800GT

it shouldn't but there is always sample variation across all components.
The fact that it is running only 2 DIMMs whereas the Pro has 4 will make a difference though.

Went to bios 17 and did notice the noted problem of not being able to get into the bios in a RAID configuration.Installed Vista 64 on a 320gb WD Sata drive and no problems.I do like this board hope it lasts so far so good.

Try tapping the Pause/Break key, while tapping the Delete key at the same time.

Well I went to hook my Raptors back up and noticed one of the SATA connectors on one of the drives was broken off exposing the pins underneath. Don't know of anyway to repair it so I guess I'll leave my 320gb drive as the main drive now.Maybe when the SSD's come down in price I'll go for one or two of them for RAID0.
