This one has been driving me crazy. Since I added an x2 3800+ (toledo core with 1/2 cache disabled) to my 939 system (upgraded from a 3000+ venice that had no trouble) ive been getting random shutoffs. The thing just switches off (maybe 4 times a week, usually when starting cpuz or orthos).
Odd behaveior to say the least, but since the resets get worse as i overclocked (stock temps never breached 50c even under full load on both cores so i doubt its heat related) i started to think it was PSU related. I bought a Corsair HX520 PSU and have seen no improvement.
On one occasion the thing finished 12 hours of Orthos at 2.4ghz. The comp has also shut off immediately on launching Orthos at stock speed.
The vCore (I now know that this is controlled by the motherboard) fluctuates from about 1.31 to 1.36 (supposed to be 1.35). Im thinking that I either have a flaky cpu, or that the motherboard simply cant keep the voltage steady enough with the dual cores putting so much more stress on the voltage regulators than the 3000+ did.
Thoughts on which one it is?
I was hoping to use this machine til AM3 shows and skip ddr2, but with this one not panning out... reccomendations would be welcome.

For starters, check your motherboard for bulging or leaking capacitors. Both ends of them should be flat, like a can of soup, not bulging or leaking. You might also check the RAM with
