okay here is weird thing. This is configuration:
Gigabyte GA-8IGX motherboard
P4 1.8A retail NEW cpu
512MB 266 CL2.5 one stick doublesided samsung ram
48X cdrw
12 X dvd
60gb maxtor
and i use everything else from onboard (well i would have) video/audio/nic
All powered up with enermax 330w psu

I power up the thing and nothing, fans are working, green light for the network is blinking, but no video,no post , not even beep from speaker. i checked the cpu its working, i checked ram its working in another machine.I just have no idea what could it be.There is something in USER manual about ram that says that intel 845e/g chipset doesnt support double sided x16 memory, what does that mean??? the ram i have has 8 chips on each side so on both side that makes it 16,is that what they are talking about????Someone help me before i throw this piece of shi% to garbage.

Try using the cmos jumper, or removing the battery for a few seconds. Also, try it outside the case on the bag the mobo came in. Could be shorting out against something in the case. Your memory is double sided, so that could be the reason. But try it in a different slot. It should still post with a beep error code if your memory is the problem.
