Problems with 23.11 Detonators

I have InnoVision Tornado GeForce 2 PRO (64 MB, TV Out) card. It worked fine for me, until I installed new Detonators (23.11 ? official Nvidia release) on my Windows 98 system.

Here's what happens:

I installed the new drivers, and than I ran 3D Mark 2001, because I wanted to see if there is any improvement in performance. The result was indeed higher (a lot higher), but the loading of each test took approximately half a minute (before it only took a few seconds for each test to load).

Then I ran 3D Mark 2000. I waited more than 3 minutes for a single test to load!

Quake 3 Arena and Serious Sam (both OpenGL games, I think) loaded (and played) normally.

Max Payne took approximately 3 minutes for the main screen to show up. The mouse barely moved, but the things even got worse, when I wanted to play the game. In five minutes nothing happened (''loading?'').

Everything looked just like I would be running Max Payne on a 386! But I don't have a 386! I have a 1400 Athlon (Thunderbird), ECS K7S5A, IBM 40 GB HDD and 256 MB of ram.

In Sports Car GT I didn't even get through the first splash screen.

When I reinstalled the 21.83 Detonators back on my machine, everything was fine again.

What could be the problem?

I would be very thankful, if anyone decides to answer me.

It seems about 50% of the people who install the 23.11's have trouble with them. You could try the 23.10's or just stick with the 21.83's. Or there are several versions between those that you could try if you feel like it. Go to Guru3D.com, they have every version ever released available for download.

You can also try the 22.80s or also get the 23.10 from this site

Also you may want to try a complete reinstall of the drivers, uninstall the device and try it again with the 23.11's.
