Problems with 1GHz AMD CPU and KT7A mobo

Please help!!! I just mounted a new system based on a new ABIT KT7A mobo. I have installed AMD T-BIRD 1GHz 266 MHz CPU.
When I start, the system show only 750 MHz. I have tryied to change settings in BIOS "SoftMenu" but whatever I do so it's always 750Mhz. Please advise. Anyone with the same failure description.
It's 1Ghz AMD CPU I was checked it 100% 🙂

sounds like the CPU you have is running on the 100 FSB instead of 133 FSB (266)

not familiar with that mobo, but look for a setting that switches it to 133 (266) cause right now it's running at 7.5x100 = 750
when you get the 133 running it'll be 7.5x133 = 1000

i know you said it won't switch, but there has to be a setting in there somewhere.. what about jumpers? is there a jumper for 133 operation? try flashing the BIOS? try a few things..
