Problems wit win98 se and creative ensoniq audio pci

I installed a sound card Creative ensoniq audio pci on win 98 se and on win 2000.While running win 2000 the card works fine ,when I try to install the drivers on win 98 ,it restarts without any reasons and after the card isn't installed yet.I tried on device manager ,but it display that:"windows stopped responding while attempt to start this device,and therefore will never attempt to start this device again(code 11)"
I tried ti install drivers from here too but it makes me the same thing,restarts.

try another PCI slot, you may have an IRQ conflict.

I had that same error not to long ago. I believe that I removed the drivers from device manager, pulled the card. Shut down and restarted. Then restarted and shut down again, installed the card and the dirvers from the CD. Works fine now. Good luck.
