When I try to upgrade my directX I keep getting a error that says "extracting file failed. Low memory(low disk space for swapping file) or corrupted Cabinet file". I get the same error when trying to upgrade Windows Media Player to 7.1 . Swap file is set at 600 mb with plenty of disc space on the drive. I'e tried changing swap file size and redownloading the files with no success. Any ideas?????

Try this - it worked for me on a similar problem with the swap file.

Find the directory where your swap file (pagefile.sys) resides. Then check the permissions for that directory. You should make sure that the user "System" has full access to that directory. If that directory is your root C directory and you are uncomfortable with giving that access to that directory, you can move the location of the pagefile directory. I think there is either an FAQ on this site or another post dangling around here somewhere about how to do that.

Good Luck!
